"Christmas Greetings
Across The Miles!"
Boy! Has
this year dragged on! No … not really, just wanted to say something besides
the traditional “Is it Christmas again?” opening.
We trust
that this finds you and you family doing well! The Christmas season is a
great time to remember our friends and family from across the years and the
miles. So here’s a little “Acrostic” to bring you up to date!
The
Faithfulness
of God has been the theme for Michael’s
31st year of ministry. As a pastor, 2006 has produced
challenges along with mountain tops. God has been faithful to help Michael
preach straight from his heart … even if it stepped on our toes. Moultrie
First celebrated 75 years of ministry & several new families are attending
regularly. Michael has continued to manage 5 web sites as a personal hobby &
a way to help others.
The 50th
Wedding Anniversary
of Mandy’s parents,
Gene & Elaine Dawson, was the biggest event for
Mandy
this year. She and her sisters managed to surprise their parents with
a CD recording of the girls singing called “Papa’s Daughters”. It took some
doing to get three sisters and a brother together secretly when they all
live in different states! The CD was presented at a reception for Mom and
Dad in Wisconsin in August.
Mandy
continues to lead the home school group, to manage the church office & the
children’s department at church and somehow works in teaching Brett &
Mikaela the 3 R’s.
A
Reception,
was held for
Brian,
26, at the GA District Assembly for his ordination (along with 8 others). We
are very proud of Brian for this milestone in his life. In September, Brian
was asked to be the supply pastor at Cairo First Church of the Nazarene
(Cairo, Georgia, that is,.. Pronounced like the syrup...KARO). The church
immediately fell in love with him and he officially became their pastor on
December 3rd. Cairo is only a 45 minute drive from us so he is not far from
home. He continues to work at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA as a
medical clerk.
Mmmm
…
Yummy lollipops have turned Mikaela,10,
into quite the entrepreneur with her own chocolate lollipop business. She
has a good customer base and enjoys making extra dollars. She
is using her musical talents for the Lord
also… singing, playing the piano and the violin. She is the youngest in the
advance violin class at the art center (ages 10-14).
Extreme
Faith,
a youth conference with Christian bands and speakers, is where
Brett (15) and the
youth group have set their sights for New Year’s Eve. We’re a little jealous
that he’ll get to be in Pigeon Forge, TN. He has taken over the power point
for our worship services. He is a real blessing to our ministry with his
technical talents. One of the men at church offered to teach Brett to use a
lathe. Brett has made some lovely candlesticks. He is also hoping to soon
have his driver learner’s permit.
Radical
decisions for Daniel and Tina
have led them to be foster parents. Presently they are doing respite care
which means they take a child for a few days while the assigned foster care
parents are out of town or temporary care until permanent housing is found.
Daniel, Tina, and Austin
stay busy with their involvement at Savannah Harvest Nazarene church.
Savoring
our friendships down through the years is the best part of our memories. We
pray that you have a most Blessed Christmas and a Wonderful New Year. We
will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
